This man will surely find more camaraderie, good will, and truthfulnessamong CG Auxilary members than in the WTBTS.
It's quite the blessing in disguise.

dear randy,.
thank you so much for your site of objective, non-biased truth.
i was appalled to see that the society owns half of a defense manufacturer!

i don't have a question, but i'm new here and i thought i would talk about my past a little bit, to hopefully make some new friends.. .
i was raised as a jw, well sort of my mom was married to a jw for awhile, then she married my dad and went to the meetings off and on.
when i was growing up i was made to go to them.
Welcome!
DY
for me, it was at the hall.
it was an evening meeting.
i felt a kind of mental surge within me brewing and i got and went to the men?s room.
At the KH, when I realized they had changed the expression in our Spanish calendar, a few years ago to read now "Millions Now Living Might Never Die", when the original expression and the one they had always promoted since its beginning is "Millions Now Living Will Never Die".
Also at the KH, my desire to leave got reinforced when, I think it was that same year, they changed the understanding of the 1914 generation. It sealed the deal for me right then and there. Nothing with the WTBTS has been important since.
However, I'm still hanging around the KH sometimes to keep appearances due to my parents and husband being firm JWs.
DY
who has the real truth then ?.
i found this forum last year and since then i have read many posts.
many people are still eager to quote from the bible etc.its almost as if they are still jw's.
Depending on the person and the circumstances, 'truth' is always relative, never absolute.

i'm not baptized, but i do go out in service, not much now that i'm getting a post secondary education.
i wasn't raised a jw and this is where i run into a lot of problems, the things i like to do don't really jive with the wts.
i played comptive sports in high school and college.
Wrong religion for you! Get out while you still have a bit of sanity left.

i've got the first part of my state certification this morning...a three hour exam covering the last month and a half of training on state law, the judicial system, case practice, interventions, indicators of maltreatment and abuse et cetera and i've got anxiety out the wazoo (btw, does anyone know what a wazoo is??).
i have to pass this in order to keep my job and i've heard that it's pretty difficult, so i'm stressing just a wee bit.
i'm thinking the gallon of coffee i've already had this morning may not have been such a good idea??
The better you've prepared, the better luck you'll have. Hope you do very well.

i would like to as the men on the board a question.
if your wife/partner were to slap you during an argument, would you feel that if you were you to hit back it would make you equal?.
we all know that violance, no matter how minor is wrong, but this is a question about equality.
Run, hold her arms or detain her in some way, get her out of your life for good, but don't hit her.
In Spanish there's a saying that has much truth to it, and it goes like: "A man that hits a woman because he cannot hit another man".
DY
are you 100% sure you're doing the right thing??
?
Perhaps only 50% sure. Just like anything in life, it's not all good and it's not all bad.
For this reason alone, I think a very slow fade works out well for me. I'm sure as time goes by I'll fee more sure of my decision.
DY
sometimes when i go visit my mother, she mentions that i was a good kid because i was raised by bible principles.
i was crying for absolutely no reason at all.
around 11:30, i felt completely ill. i went up to my teacher and told him i was going to see the nurse.
Having been raised a JW taught me discipline, if nothing else. It comes in handy quite often.
Other good benefits is having stayed away from bad/expensive habits such as drug use, smoking of any type, and drunkenness. I feel pretty good about that.
So, the experience is not all bad.
DY
having left 18 months ago .
i still feel a spiritual need in the way that i do beleive there is a creator and after having done a lot of research on bible arecheaology i beleive the bible is correct.
however we have been taught so much dogma amongst christianity have any of you got to the point yet of going to any other religious meeting.
After I finally escape the sharp claws of the WTBTS, I don't plan on being part ever again of organized religion.
